The Education Development Council (EDC) was established to develop and implement Academy continuing education programming to provide comprehensive education opportunities to the membership.

Council Goals and Objectives
The EDC oversees all of the education initiatives of the Academy and also is the home of the JPO Editor. The work is done through four committees; the Publications Committee, the Online Education Committee, the Scientific Societies Committee, and the Annual Meeting Clinical Content Committee.

Committee Goals and Objectives:
The Clinical Content Committee determines the education content for the Annual Meeting. The committee work combines Call for Abstracts for Free Papers and Thranhardt Lectures with current topics of interest in symposia, instructional courses, clinical techniques formats.

Committee Goals and Objectives:
The Online Education Committee works to ensure that there is always a large selection of online education programming on the Paul E. Leimkuehler Online Learning Center (OLC). The committee focuses on building the content library of the OLC to ensure cost-effectve, convenient eduation opportunities are available to O&P professionals.

Committee Goals and Objectives:
The Publications Committee works to ensure that the publications offered by the Academy are many and varied addressing all levels of O&P practice. The committee assesses the publication needs for the Academy (books, booklets, brochures), recommends the priority of topics/projects, oversees the selection of authors, and ensures easy access to obtain the publications.
