Governance


The American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists is governed by a twelve member Board of Directors which is responsible for guiding the Academy towards fulfilling its mission. The Board of Directors is comprised of a six member Executive Committee that includes an Executive Director plus six Board members. There are three major councils and numerous committees all of which report back to the Board of Directors. The membership of the Academy elects two new board members each year for three year terms as well as three members of the Executive Committee each for one-year terms.
