High School Awareness ProgramIt is more critical than ever to promote the O&P profession and introduce it as a career option to students. As part of the Academy's Project Quantum Leap initiative, high school students from New Orleans are invited for a guided tour of the Exhibit Hall on Friday. This will give them an opportunity to see O&P technology firsthand, speak with O&P professionals and meet students who are currently enrolled in O&P programs. Guest ToursTour 1 – Cookin' CreoleFriday, February 27 Cooking Creole is one of the hottest new rages sweeping the country. We invite you to a blend of comedy and cooking! The chef will prepare several delicacies including jambalaya and bread pudding in front of your very eyes and let you be the judge – you'll get to eat everything that is prepared. The tour includes the cooking demonstration, recipes, lunch, local beer, and iced tea. Tour 2 – Louisiana Swamp TourSaturday, February 28 You can't visit New Orleans without experiencing a swamp tour! You will board a flat boat for a bayou swamp ride hosted by your captain - an authentic Cajun trapper. Enjoy as he provides an interesting narrative of the history of the massive swampland. You'll see alligators, egrets, water snakes, and a variety of native birds. |
