The Howard R. Thranhardt Lecture Series is an education fund that was established in 1995 by J.E. Hanger Southeast in memory of Howard R. Thranhardt, CP. The fund provides a $1,000 honorarium for one hour of education programming at the Academy Annual Meeting.

Based upon the submitted abstracts four presentations will be chosen as potential recipients of the Thranhardt Lecture Series honorarium. These presentations will be delivered at the Annual Meeting and voted on by the attendees. The winners will be determined based upon content, delivery, clinical, and scientific relevance of the presentation. Two $500 honoraria will be awarded to the selected presentations.

Requirements for Submission of Abstract:

  1. All abstracts must be original work, attributable to the author.

  2. Presentations should be 20 minutes in length.

Thranhardt Abstract Content:

  • The purpose of the abstract is to define the precise content of the presentation to the audience. Thranhardt abstracts must adopt the IMRD (introduction, materials and methods, results discussion, and conclusion) format.

  • The results of the study should be included in the abstract. It is not satisfactory to state that the results will be presented or discussed.

  • It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure accuracy of content, spelling and presentation. Abstracts will be published exactly as submitted.

  • All abstracts will be peer reviewed by the Clinical Content Committee, which reserves the right to accept or reject abstracts for inclusion in the program.
