Free Paper submissions are intended to offer solutions to common problems, patient and practice management techniques, innovative uses of technology, or current research findings. The content and/or presentation of the information will promote quality or improvements in orthotic or prosthetic care, and will not promote a specific proprietary business or commercial interest. Content for this activity, including any presentation of therapeutic options, should be unbiased and, as much as possible, based on evidence.

Requirements for Submission of Abstract:

1. All abstracts must be on a single topic designed to highlight issues of interest.

2. Presentations will be no more than 12 minutes in length.

3. All abstracts must be one page (no more than 800 words).

Free Paper Abstract Content

• Write a one page (800 word limit) abstract defining the precise content of the presentation.

• If submitting an Abstract for research study results, outline the purpose, methods, summary of results and major conclusions.

• If submitting an Abstract to provide an overview of a clinically relevant subject, such as a case study, new technique or literature review, outline the learning objectives and report on the methods used to compile the information or develop a given technique, and all major conclusions.

• It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure accuracy of content, spelling and presentation.

• This abstract, if accepted, will be published exactly as submitted in the Journal of Proceedings of the 2009 Academy Annual Meeting & Scientific Symposium.

• All abstracts will be peer reviewed by the Clinical Content Committee, which reserves the right to accept or reject abstracts for inclusion in the program.

1. Your one page abstract (800 word limit) is to be typed in the space provided on this form or on an attached sheet.

2. Text must be formatted in at least a 10-point font such as Times New Roman.

3. Attach a short biographical sketch of the speaker(s).
