Chapter Goals and Objectives

  • To offer quality educational programs on a local level.

  • To represent our local chapter at the national meeting.

  • Chapter board members work closely with local facilities and Century College hospitals to support education goals.

Upcoming Chapter Highlights

  • Annual fall meeting will be held September 7, 2007 in Minneapolis.

  • Planning underway for a one day education seminar at Century College this spring.

Previous Chapter Highlights

  • Northern Plains Annual Meeting was held on Septemeber 7, 2007 at Jimmy’s Catering and Conference Center in Vadnais Heights, MN.

  • Annual business meeting was held on September 8, 2006 at Shriners Hospital for Orthotists and Prosthetists and CPeds.

  • A donation was made to Project Quantum Leap for 2006.

  • Annual business meeting was held on October 25, 2006. Officers were elected and discussion were held about the future growth of the chapter and getting more practitioners involved.

  • A donation was made to Digital Resource Foundation for Orthotic and Prosthetic community.

  • Purchased 2 model skeletons for O&P programs at Century College.

Educational Opportunities

  • We hosted the Traveling Fellows, a group of Physicians and Prosthetists from Germany at Shriners Hospital Twin Cities on March 1, 2007.

  • Tentative plans for two spring seminars on gait analysis and pediatric orthotics.

Member Involvement

If you are an Academy member and ABC certified and would like to become involved in our local chapter, please contact any of the board members. The growth and success of our local chapter depends on the participation of members.

Committee Work

Ad Hoc committees meet on an informal basis though the year. Officers and Directors meet monthly.
