What is an Academy Society?
A Society is a group of Academy members and Society Associate members who share an interest in research, education, and practice techniques in a specific practice area.

What do these Societies do?
Society members share information and resources, promote research and education in their area, and contribute to the Academy and Societies' literature.

What are these specific practice areas?
Computer Assisted Design for prosthetics and orthotics (CAD/CAM), Fabrication Sciences, Gait, Lower Limb Orthotics, Lower Limb Prosthetics, Spinal Orthotics, and Upper Limb Prosthetics.

This sounds exciting! Who can join a Society?
Any Academy member in good standing is eligible.

Can members form Societies in others areas of interest?
Twenty (20) Academy members can petition the Academy Board to form a Society in any area of orthotics and prosthetics practice.
