Academy Projects Take Top Honors in International Marketing Communication Awards Contest
Academy receives a total of nine awards including three platinum awards, three gold awards, and three honorable mentions for projects serving the orthotics and prosthetics professional communities.
WASHINGTON, DC—The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists is pleased to announce that nine Academy projects were recognized by the prestigious 2015 MarCom Awards, an international marketing and communications award contest.
The 2015 Academy Annual Meeting & Scientific Symposium Final Program won the Platinum Award in the Annual Meeting Final Program category. The comprehensive Make a Career of Making a Difference brochure and the O&P careers specialty brochures won Platinum Awards in the Informational and Brochure Series categories. The brochures were created in partnership with the HOPE Careers Consortium, which in 2014 solicited the Academy’s assistance to produce a comprehensive brochure, specialty-specific brochures, video, public service announcements (PSAs), and a website aimed at spreading awareness about O&P careers with a focus on a career as an O&P technician. The video won the Gold award in the Informational Video category. The O&P Careers 30-second, and 60-second PSA’s received honorable mention in their respective categories.
The Journal of Prosthetics & Orthotics (JPO) and the Academy TODAY earned Gold Awards in the Scientific Journal and Educational Institution Magazine categories, respectively. JPO is the profession’s leading peer-reviewed quarterly scientific journal. The Academy TODAY is a quarterly magazine that provides clinical articles focused on the latest practices in orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) patient care, topical features from the Academy Scientific Societies, and the opportunity to earn continuing education credits.
“This type of recognition speaks highly of the work of the Academy and our efforts to provide the very best to our members and the profession,” stated Academy President M. Jason Highsmith, PT, DPT, PhD, CP, FAAOP.
The MarCom Awards, an international creative competition, recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals. Winners are recognized for their excellence in terms of quality, creativity, and resourcefulness. The 2015 competition included more than 6,500 entries throughout the United States and fifteen foreign countries.
