This is the first course in a three part program. The first course discusses the concepts of orthotic evaluation principles focusing primarily on cerebral palsy. The evaluation tools discussed here can be applied to other patient populations. The presenter discusses history-taking and prognosis as they relate to treating the patient. Assessment of the patient for orthotic intervention is reviewed. Tracking patient results to determine effectiveness of treatment of the patient as well as reimbursement issues are addressed.
