The Certificate Program for Professional Development focusing on deformational plagiocephaly is a program designed to discuss the "epidemic" of deformational plagiocephaly and the American Academy of Pediatrics' response; a review of the literature on the management of deformational plagiocephaly; orthotic modeling of the developing skull; the identification and treatment of congenital muscular torticollis in infants; the clinical evaluation process, and procedures for the orthotic treatment of infants with deformational plagiocephaly; obtaining a positive model for craniofacial deformities; the orthotic management of infants with plagiocephaly; orthotic cranioplasty material design and considerations; an overview of craniosynostosis; and recommendations for future research.
