Learn More About Webinars

How Live Webinars Work

The Academy's interactive Webinar Series covers a range of topics. Webinars can be attended from anywhere in the world with computer access and a broadband internet connection. The presentations contain a video aspect that is viewed on the computer and an audio aspect that is listened to using computer speakers or telephone.

Webinars are led by an experienced moderator who monitors attendance and audience questions. Most webinars are 60 minutes in length with a 50 minute presentation and a 10 minute question and answer period. Participants have the opportunity to interact with the presenter by typing questions into a live chat window.

At the completion of the webinar attendees are directed to an exam on the Academy's Online Learning Center (OLC) to receive continuing education credits. Successful completion of this exam will automatically be reported to ABC, BOC, and CBCPO. A certificate of completion will also be automatically generated.

Group Access to Live Webinars

The webinar series offers a great opportunity for a group to view a presentation. The webinar can be purchased by one staff member and viewed by the group. Those that want to receive credit must purchase the course after the live presentation and take the quiz to receive credit.

How On-Demand Webinars Work

Every live webinar that is presented by the Academy will also be recorded and made available on the Academy's OLC.

Those who attended the live webinar will have open access to the recorded version on the OLC. Those who did not attend will be able to purchase the recorded version on the OLC, watch the course, and take the exam for credit.
