I am pleased to inform you that on August 28, 1993, the Council on Medical Education, on behalf of the American Medical Association (AMA), voted to formally adopt the proposed Essentials and Guidelines for an Accredited Educational Program for the Orthotist and Prosthetist.
The Council complimented the fine work and cooperation that was displayed by the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) and its staff during the preparation of the proposed Essentials.
The AMA looks forward to working with the NCOPE and its sponsoring organizations.
