Common credentials of Academy members

  • FAAOP - Fellow of the Academy - Members with the highest level of distinction in the Academy. Fellows have completed additional educational requirements and/or have performed public service, been published, led a society or committee or an Academy sponsored program.

  • CO, CP, CPO - Certified orthotist and/or prosthetist - an ABC* certified practitioner

  • CFo, CFm, CFom - Certified fitter in orthotics, mastectomy, both

  • LO, LP, LPO - Licensed practitioner - some states require licensure: may accompany certification credentials
