This program will educate the audience on topics relevant to the practice of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in the rehabilitation of individuals with limb loss. It begins with a review of relevant outcome measures that guide assessment and treatment in this population. The course continues with a review of important concepts in normal and pathological human locomotion, with specific applications to those with limb loss. In addition, this program gives insight into the prosthetic concepts of socket fit, alignment, and device features that influence patient stability and mobility. All lecture topics are applied with a hands-on lab that includes local community members as course participants. Rehabilitation professionals will leave with the ability to immediately apply this information to their daily practice. Lunch will be provided for our morning attendees.

Afternoon will see the lower limb patient population join us for a Train the Trainer hands on clinic working together to improve core, gait, stride and more.
