New JPO Editorial Board Members

ACADEMY APPOINTS NEW EDITORIAL BOARD MEMBERS TO THE JOURNAL OF PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS

Prominent orthotic and prosthetic professionals join editorial board of leading research journal.

BETHESDA, MD — The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy), the leading professional organization for orthotists and prosthetists, is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to the JPO Editorial Board, joining Editor-in-Chief Steven A. Gard, PhD, and nine other Editorial Board members.

Kristie Bjornson, PT, PhD, MS; Goeran Fiedler, PhD; and John R. Fisk, MD, recently accepted appointments to join, according to Gard. "We have assembled a fine team of individuals to serve on our Editorial Board who are well-known and respected in the field of P&O,” Gard said. “I am excited to work with them to increase the visibility and quality of JPO in the coming months.”

bjornson_kristieKristie Bjornson, PT, PhD, MS, is an Associate Professor, Developmental Medicine, Pediatrics at the University of Washington and Seattle Children's Hospital Research Institute.

 

 

 

fiedler_goeranGoeran Fiedler, PhD, is an assistant professor for the Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO) program at the University of Pittsburgh.

 

 

 

 

fisk_johnJohn R. Fisk, MD, is chairman of the board of Trustees of Exceed-Worldwide, formerly known as the Cambodia Trust, which has established five schools of prosthetics and orthotics in Southeast Asia; he also is professor emeritus at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

 

 

 

The Academy has published the JPO, a prestigious peer-reviewed journal in O&P, for more than 30 years. The JPO promotes and disseminates scientific and technical advances in O&P,  as well as developments in clinical practice, research, education, and technology. Its content applies to a multidisciplinary group of rehabilitative healthcare professionals.
