COVID-19: Information for Our Members
Share |

The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists recognizes that the COVID-19 situation is unprecedented, challenging, and dynamic. The strain that is being placed on healthcare providers and their facilities has a direct impact on patient care. The need to do what is necessary to impede the spread of COVID-19 has required some states to mandate the need for social distancing and other measures. We know that O&P professionals are adjusting to a new normal when it comes to the frequency in which you see your patients, the research you conduct, and the flow with which you run your business. With schools being closed and the mandate for “essential employees” at medical facilities, our students and residents are unable to continue the pace of learning that was planned for 2020.

Your Academy is working harder than ever to ensure that you have the information and resources you need to excel in your area of focus, whether that be as a clinician, practitioner, researcher, resident, or student. Below is a list of resources specific to COVID-19. Learn more about the Academy’s commitment to our members during this challenging time: A Message from your Academy President about COVID-19.
