Biomechanical and Functional Analysis of Three LSOs for Chronic Low-Back Pain in an Adult with Lumbar Spine Injury (AT021-1)
Low-back pain (LBP) affects 85–90 percent of the general
population at some point in their lives. Current treatment options for LBP include physiotherapy, chiropractic manipulation, pain medication, and orthotic interventions. Although orthotic devices are among the treatment options, their effectiveness for chronic LBP remains inconclusive based on current scientific evidence. This uncertainty may stem from the multifactorial nature of LBP, which requires different orthotic treatments for each underlying cause and diagnosis. Additionally, numerous lumbar sacral orthoses (LSOs) are available, leaving clinicians without clear guidance on which LSO is most effective for managing LBP associated with specific diagnoses or causes.
