Named for John Michael, CPO, FAAOP, FISPO, whose visionary leadership and commitment to advancing the profession are deeply woven into the Academy’s history, this award honors his enduring legacy while reinforcing the Academy’s commitment to education, research, and professional growth.

About the Awards

The John Michael Student Poster Awards recognize outstanding student poster presentations accepted by the Academy’s Clinical Content Committee (CCC). These awards celebrate academic excellence, clinical relevance, and emerging contributions to the O&P profession.

Recipients will be selected prior to the Academy Annual Meeting & Scientific Symposium and announced during the meeting each year.

Eligibility: All students whose posters are accepted by the Academy’s Clinical Content Committee (CCC) and who are Academy Members will be considered for the award.
