Fellow Designation Renewal – Grace Period Option 

For Fellows outside the standard 5-year renewal window

If you previously earned the esteemed Fellow designation but did not complete your renewal within the standard five-year window, you're in luck! We offer a one-year grace period to retain your title and stay recognized for your commitment to excellence in orthotics and prosthetics.

Eligibility Requirements

To renew during the grace period, you must meet the criteria for either Pathway One or Pathway Two:

Pathway One

• Faculty Service: You have served as faculty for a Certificate Program for Professional Development.

Pathway Two*

_{*Must meet both an education and a service requirement.}

Education (choose one):

• Attend 4 organized sessions from an Academy Annual Meeting (AM2025 access available at no cost through 12/31/25 for attendees)
• Complete 2 Certificate Programs for Professional Development (available online)

Service (choose one):

• Author an accepted manuscript for the Journal of Prosthetics & Orthotics (JPO)
• Chair a symposium or instructional course at an Academy Annual Meeting
• Present at two Academy-sponsored programs in the past five years
• Serve as a residency director at an NCOPE-approved residency site
• Contribute at least 40 documented hours of community service related to the O&P profession
• Volunteer 40 hours within the Academy, such as serving as a committee or society chair

Required Documentation

Your application will not be processed until a copy of your ABC Continuing Education Activities Report (or BOC/Licensure report) is received.
