Microlearning - Crawling Development in Children with Limb Loss/Limb Difference (ML2025-01)
(0.25 Scientific Credits) This microlearning module is based on the Academy's 2025 Annual Meeting research poster “Comparing Crawling Development in Children with Limb Loss/Limb Difference to Typically Developing Children.”
Crawling plays a key role in early motor development, yet little data exists on how infants with limb differences adapt their movement strategies. This study provides new quantitative insights using pressure mat analysis, highlighting differences in speed, cadence, and weightbearing patterns between infants with limb loss/limb difference (LLD) and their typically developing peers.
In this bite-size module, you’ll watch a short presentation from the study authors, review the full poster, and apply the findings in a clinical scenario and knowledge check in approximately 15 minutes.
