Why Ultra-Low Friction Interventions Matter for POP
A webinar sponsored by Tamarack Habilitation Technologies
Session Description
Join Tamarack for an Academy-hosted webinar exploring how friction and shear forces play a significant role in the development of skin breakdown and wounds in patients who use orthotic and prosthetic devices.
This webinar will examine the biomechanics of friction and shear and their impact on tissue integrity. Attendees will learn how to recognize contributing factors and apply targeted strategies to offload these forces, support wound healing, prevent recurrence, and minimize patient discomfort. Practical clinical approaches will be discussed to help improve device tolerance and wear time while supporting patient mobility, independence, and overall outcomes.
