In 2019, he was honored as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (FAAOP), recognizing his exceptional contributions to the field.

Outside the clinic, Jonas has been happily married for over 30 years. He enjoys family time, boating on the Chesapeake Bay, and supporting local, regional, and international missions.
