Achievement of Expectations and Functional Impact of the Hero Arm Bionic Hand Prosthesis (JPO038-2b)
This study evaluates whether the Hero Arm bionic prosthesis meets the expectations and functional needs of children with congenital below-elbow deficiency (CBED). Using patient-reported outcomes, standardized functional assessments, and satisfaction surveys, the authors examine prosthesis performance, grasp and functional ability, and real-world daily use. The findings highlight the importance of aligning prosthetic technology with individual goals and emphasize the role of shared decision-making between clinicians, children, and their families during the prosthetic prescription process.
