The fear-avoidance model presents a source for understanding poor outcomes among persons with lower-limb amputation. Fear of movement is an avoidance behavior that has not yet been explored in this population. This study presents a novel method to identify subgroups of individuals who may be at risk for a poor outcomes following surgery for lower-limb amputation.
