Fear-Avoidance Behavior among Persons with Lower-Limb Amputation - 2019 Thranhardt Winner (W2019-0327)

The fear-avoidance model presents a source for understanding poor outcomes among persons with lower-limb amputation. Fear of movement is an avoidance behavior that has not yet been explored in this population. This study presents a novel method to identify subgroups of individuals who may be at risk for a poor outcomes following surgery for lower-limb amputation.
