(0.75 Scientific Credits) This course provides an in depth introduction to Critically Appraised Topics (CATs) and their role within orthotics and prosthetics. Participants will learn what CATs are, why they are valuable for clinical practice, and how they support evidence based decision making. The course walks through each major component of creating a CAT, including developing PICO questions, conducting database searches, performing critical appraisal of peer reviewed literature, synthesizing evidence, and navigating the peer review and publication process. By the end of the course, learners will understand how CATs enhance clinical knowledge translation and how to contribute to the Academy’s growing CAT library.
