Informing Federal Policy on AI in Clinical Care
The Academy is requesting your input to help inform a federal Request for Information (RFI) issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the Deputy Secretary.
HHS is seeking feedback on how the Department can accelerate the responsible adoption and use of artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical care. To ensure the orthotics and prosthetics profession is meaningfully represented, the Academy will consolidate member feedback and submit a unified response on behalf of the profession.
We invite you to complete a brief survey focused on:
- How current regulations affect the development and use of AI in clinical care
- Reimbursement and payment policy considerations
- Barriers and opportunities for AI innovation and adoption
- Where AI has met—or fallen short of—clinical and cost expectations
- Patient and caregiver perspectives related to AI in health care
Your insights will help ensure that federal policymakers understand the real-world implications of AI for clinicians, patients, and the broader health care system.
The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Responses must be submitted by February 23, 2026.
Thank you for contributing your perspective and helping advance informed, evidence-based policy.
